Courses on offer at Haley College
Haley College offers the Certificate III in Aged Care Work and Certificate III in Home and Community Care as separate courses or both combined together as a dual major. These courses are run over a ten week period and combine classroom training, clinical placements and work experience.
These courses are funded by the "Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations."
Certificate III in Aged Care Work
National Course Code: CHC30102
Hours of Delivery: 530 Hours
It is recommended that you be over 18 years old for employment purposes in this field
Certificate III in Aged Care Work is designed to provide the skills necessary to work in aged care in a range of facilities and services. It is suitable for unqualified people already working in the industry or people new to the industry. It is geared towards workers who carry out activities related to maintenance of an individuals personal care or other activities and who work within clearly defined service plans under direct or regular supervision.
Career Opportunities
Successful completion of the course may lead to employment in occupations such as carer, personal care assistant/worker, home care assistant, nursing assistant, community care/support worker, in home respite worker.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) can be applied for (see policy)
RPL is an assessment process that involves re-assessment of previously gained experience relevant to the qualification.
Credit Transfer
Haley College will recognise relevant AQF qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by any other Registered Training Organisation. Haley College encourages any potential student to apply for credit transfer if they believe they qualify.
RPL and or Credit Transfer can only be completed on up to 25% of the course, otherwise you are ineligible for this course.
